Gamla Merlot 2016 is produced from grapes grown in the cold climate, volcanic soil and high attitude unique in the Golan Heights, a growing area that has proven itself as a wonderful home for this breed. The wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, presents a full bodied and pleasant finish. Endowed with a profusion of cherry and plum layered with dried herbs, earth and dark chocolate.
The Gamla Merlot 2016 is ready for drinking now and under proper storage conditions it will continue to be enjoyable for up to seven years from the vintage.
This is a very friendly wine for food that will be a great accompaniment to sirloin steak, roast lamb or polenta toast with tapenade.
