The Gush Etzion Lone Oak Gerwurztraminer is produced from 100% gerwurtzraminer grapes in Gush Etzion, Israel. The wine has almost no color at all, it's super see through, amazingly transparent. There may be a touch of yellow on the rim but that's it. You can really tell this is a gewurz by the nose, you can pick it up right away. This wine is very varietal true which is well liked. The gewurz smells like a mix of a green and yellow gusher, but less sweet. There is also a little grass on the nose. The mouth is medium bodied and medium dry but the acid is a bit big on the approach in the mouth. It gets lost in the mid palate and then it's a big strong and bitter on the finish. The wine is a bit confused in the mouth but the mid palate and finish has good flavors of green apple peel and pear.
