About the wine
Gamla Cabernet Sauvignon features aromas of raspberries, blueberries and cherries, along with hints of black pepper, herbs and chocolate with French oak in the background. This is a wine rich in flavors that features a full body and a long finish.
 
Gamla Cabernet Sauvignon is ready to drink now and will continue to evolve in the bottle for several more years. Under proper storage conditions the wine will age in the bottle between six and eight years from the vintage.
 
Wine and food
We like to enjoy the wine alongside a perfect roast beef, roast lamb chops with garlic and herbs, or a stew of wild mushrooms and lentils.
 
Gamla Cabernet is produced from grapes grown in the vineyards of the Golan Heights. The wine was aged for one year in French oak barrels.
 
On the tumor area
The Galilee is the northernmost growing area in Israel and is considered the best for growing wine grapes. Within this growing area, the Golan Heights is the part where the temperatures are the coolest and the grapes are of the highest quality. The vineyards on this volcanic plateau grow from 400 meters to 1200 meters above sea level and the highest ones where snow meets in winter.
The Golan Heights Winery is located in the city of Katzrin, which is in the center of the Golan.
